Overview
Guest quarters in a stately 16th-century Palladian villa
Dimora Palladio is an exclusive, spacious accommodation (4,300 sq ft) within a historic, authentic Venetian villa. The villa is one of the most splendid examples of Palladian-style Venetian Villa still lived and maintained by the noble Venetian family, who had it built in the first half of the 1500s. The beautiful guest quarter offered here has been created in the upper floor of the left wing of the villa, called a barchessa.
The apartment sleeps comfortably 8 people. The interiour is elegant and sophisticated, yet at the same time comfortable and inviting. Furnishings are mix of family treasures, period paintings, and interesting art. Floors are mostly parquet, and bathrooms are decorated with lovely hand-painted Vietri tiles.
Outside, there is a private flower garden with a swimming pool and gazebo (dressing room, refrigerator, BBQ) for the exclusive use of our guests. Guests will enjoy the warm hospitality of its owners. They live in a separate part of the villa and will provide expert advice on everything from where to play golf or tennis to what and where to eat.
This is one of the great Venetian properties. The elegantly structured villa with the central main building is flanked on both sides by arcaded wings and frame an Italian garden with a fountain, statues, flower beds, lawns and bushes in the front. The spacious grounds include an English garden in back. The villa is surrounded by woodlands, and includes a chapel, a soccer field, and a fish pond that has cleverly been created in the cavity from which the stone to construct the villa was quarried.
The sumptous villa is located in the heart of the Veneto countryside, in a central location to explore all the great art cities of the Veneto including Padua, Venice, Verona, Vicenza and Treviso. In fact, the villa is less than twenty miles from Venice or Padua. The best way to get to Venice is by train (40 min) from the little station at Piombino Dese, just 7 kilometers away.
Charming Veneto towns like Cittadella, Bassano, Asolo, Castelfranco, Treviso, Vicenza, and Maser are within easy reach. The little village of Levada, home to a coffee bar, grocer, newsstand, bakery, gas station, and hairdresser, is within walking distance (1.5 km) of the villa.
Follow a charming country lane just a mile further to Badoere, with an excellent butcher, supermarket, florist, and antique dealer, as well as several charming restaurants and trattoria.
Facilities for horseback riding (1 km), tennis (5 km) and golf (15 km) are nearby. The villas on the Brenta canal as well as other famous Palladio villas should also be on your cultural agenda.

Activities
The great cultural wealth of the Veneto region and its diversity is one of the main reason for visiting this area. The villa's strategic position makes for many an inspiring day trip to Padova, Venice, Vicenza, Verona, Ferrara, Lake Garda as well as smaller destinations such Este, Montagnana, Monselice and Arquà Petrarca. The villas on the Brenta canal as well as the famous Palladio villas should also be on your cultural agenda. Each of these destinations offers a multitude of rewarding cultural visits.
The Venetian Villas: More than 3000 villas were built in the hinterland of Venice between the 15th and 19th century. Some are open to the public. The most famous are the Palladian villas such as Villa Barbaro at Maser, Villa Emo at Fanzolo and La Rotonda near Vincenza. Do not miss the Villa Valmarana “Ai Nani” with frescoes by Tiepolo, Catajo Castle and Villa Barbarigo with its baroque garden and a maze of boxwood.
Venice is only 37 km from the property. In Venice you will have the opportunity to visit any of the 84 churches present in the city, including of course the Basilica of St. Marco, which stands next to the Doge’s Palazzo, one of the main landmarks of Venice. You can also visit the islands, such as Murano, famous for its beautiful hand blown glass.
40 km from the villa, you will find Padua. If you had to choose one thing to see, it would be the Cappella degli Scrovegni, a chapel entirely painted with frescoes by Giotto in the 14th century. This is considered the work which marks the beginning of the Renaissance. The Palazzo della Ragione (Palace of Reason), a surprising builing which rises above all the rest of the historical center of Padua exposes another gift made by this family to the municipality, a sumptuous wooden horse.
At Vicenza you will be dazzled by Palladio’s genius. The beauty of the Olympic Theatre, an embodiment of Andrea Palladio, the Palladian Basilica, another of his masterworks, or the Loggia del Capitano. The small streets of this compact city want to be explored on foot, which will bring an exciting reward at each 20 steps you take.
The city of Verona contains many treasures: start with the Roman monuments, such as the Roman Arena. Garden lovers will want to visit the Giardino Giusti. The San Zeno church will stay with you for long. Every day the Piazza delle Erbe, a beautiful square in the center of town has a colourful market.
Asolo is a small town, famous for its lace and silk weaving. It is also resplendent with monuments, such as the remains of an amphitheatre and an aqueduct, the Rocca (castle of the 12th early 13th century), or you can visit the Palazzo della Ragione which has now become the museum of the city. In the last century it was a privileged resort by artists and writers such as Hemingway and Browning and the famous Eleonora Duse.
The town of Bassano del Grappa is located in the heart of Veneto at the foot of the Alps. The main productions of Bassano are white asparagus, ceramics, and of course grappa. You must see the Cathedral (Duomo), the Castello Superiore (Upper Castle), or the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Closest shopping: The little village of Levada, home to a coffee bar, grocer, newsstand, bakery, gas station, and hairdresser, is within walking distance (1.5 km) of the villa.
Railway station: The best way to get to Venice is by train (40 min) from the little station at Piombino Dese, just 7 km from the villa.
Sports: cycling, horseback riding 1 km, fishing 2 km, tennis 5 km, golf (18 + 9 holes) 15 km, indoor go-karting 20 km, quad excursions on Monte Grappa, rafting/cayak on the Brenta River.
